Shush Raft – School Reception Area

Schools have common areas where hard surfaces create an echo and reverberation. These areas are normally large areas such as sports hall, dining area, class rooms etc. It is vital to create a comfortable environment for students and teachers to be able to communicate and be heard clearly. Teachers and students are required to work together in open spaces and therefore the correct acoustic solutions must be considered as an essential.

SoundHush provided an acoustic design solution for the school in the reception area to keep noise levels to a minimum by carefully placing Shush Rafts acoustic ceiling panels in key spaces to absorb unnecessary noise. The Shush Rafts were suspended on cables from the ceiling in a white fabric finish which allowed not only to absorb the sound being generated from the hard surfaces but also visually enhanced the ceiling area. The acoustic in this school area was remarkably improved.
